Yemen-Press Local sources in Yemen's Socotra Island reported full control of the Transitional Council's forces over the island's airport and port. According to al-Jazeera, the UAE accelerated the construction of three military bases on the outskirts of the island.

The actions coincided with the arrival of UAE officers in Socotra to transfer weapons and military equipment from Abu Dhabi to the island.

According to local sources, the Emirati officers arrived the island on a flight belonging to the Emirates Royal Jet Company.

In late June, forces from the Southern Transitional Council took control local government headquarters and the provincial security office building in the central city of Hadibu after forces of Hadi's government expelled from it.
