Hezbollah has downed overnight a new Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) over the southern area of Al-Aishiyeh, as the Zionist entity loses superiority and freedom over the skies of Lebanon.

In a statement late Sunday, Hezbollah announced that the Islamic Resistance fighters shot down a hostile drone over Al-Aishiyeh in south Lebanon.

In another statement released by Hezbollah Military Media, the Lebanese resistance group said the drone was a Hermes 450 unmanned aerial vehicle.

The group’s Military Media released a video showing the operation in which the drone was downed.

The operation was one of at least eight strikes carried out by Hezbollah “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in solidarity with their brave and honorable resistance,” the group’s statements on Sunday read.

Known in the military as the Zik, the Hermes 450 is used by the Israeli Air Force as a surveillance and attack drone.

It’s the second Hermes 450 to be shot down by Hezbollah since October 8.

In February, Hezbollah managed to shoot down a Hermes 450 drone.

Earlier this month, the resistance group shot down a Hermes 900 drone, a larger model.

‘Israel’ Lost Superiority over Lebanese Skies Earlier this month, outgoing Israeli Air Force chief Amikam Norkin said that the Zionist entity no longer enjoys superiority and freedom over the skies of Lebanon.

Speaking to the Kan public broadcaster on 5 April, Norkin stated this reality has been apparent to the Israeli military establishment after Hezbollah nearly shot down an Israeli drone by an anti-aircraft missile over Lebanon almost one year ago.

“Israeli officials realized aircraft were threatened by Hezbollah missiles over Lebanon, and decided to reduce the number of surveillance flights over its northern neighbor, harming Israel’s intelligence gathering capabilities,” Norkin told the Kan public broadcaster.
